Locating Underground Services
Module Aim:
The aim of this module is to provide the participants with the required knowledge, skills to carry out safe excavation and look at procedures that should be undertaken prior to excavation. This module is targeted at all personnel working in road construction, maintenance and reinstatement.
Candidate Profile:
The Course is designed to make candidates aware of the dangers involved in excavating. It will train delegates in the use of cable detection equipment and to detect and avoid most buried apparatus. The course is intended for outdoor staff employed by Local Authorities, Public Utilities, and private sector contractors and other persons involved in works on public roads. Participants may be general operatives and supervisory staff. It is assumed the participants will have been involved with and will have background knowledge in the area of Roadwork’s.

- Emergency Situations
Duration: 2 days - 9am to 5pm
No of Delegates: 8 Maximum
Pre-Course Requirements: Have a valid Safe Pass Registration Card

15 minute practical test
45 minute multichoice questionnaire
Certification: On successful completion of this two- day course a FÁS CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card and a FETAC Level 5 certificate will be issued to successful applicants.
